Daniel Chesterfield

Remember that Belgian comedy guy doing a parody of David Copperfield? Original

Looks like Hummer noticed and hired him to do some commercials. :D
Turning 29.5K in a hummmer: Commercial 1
Parking garage: Commercial 2
20 miles per gallon: Commercial 3
Fitting one in a small garage: Commercial 4

Magic! :p

Weird Al does it again.

Weird Al is at it again. He made a new cd filled with satirical songs, called 'Straight outta Lynwood' in a nod to 'straight outta Compton'. He even made the first song on the cd free for download. It's called 'Don't download this song'.
Have a hear. It's hilarious with lines like:

"Don't take away money from artists just like me
How else can I afford another solid gold Humvee?
And diamond-studded swimming pools, these things don't grow on trees" :D

Here it is: Don't click this link ;)

Hearing Range

How good is your hearing? We all know dogs can hear very high tones, tones a human ear can't hear anymore. That's how the dog whistle works.
But even among humans there are differences in hearing capabilities. Generally, the younger you are the higher tones you are able to hear. I found a blog with sound samples going from 10,000 Hz all the way up to 25,000Hz. I could hear the tones up to 20,000Hz, after that, I only heard silence, although 21k and 22k did gave me a headache-like feeling in the head. How high can you go? Let me know :)

North Korea trip

This are two interesting travel reports from 2 guys who went to North Korea. Since the country is pretty much blocked off from the rest of the world, getting in to it isn't that easy unless you go with a guided tourist group. And even then they won't let you out of their sight and make sure you only see what they want you to see. Still two interesting reports from a country of which little is known to most people. Let me know what you think of them.

North Korea story 1

I noticed the second one took lots more 'forbidden' pictures, that he shot while the guides wern't looking :p

Oceanogram

Ever wanted to send a message in a bottle? Or would you like to read washed up bottles sent by other people? Well, now you can without having actually having to go to the ocean. Just go to Oceanogram and send your messages out and read messages sent out from all parts of the world. Enjoy.

ThiefBaumsworld

Ever heard of ebaumsworld.com? Or as I like to call it, ebumsworld.com. Well this guy made his site big by taking content of off other people's websites instead of creating his own. Ignoring copyrights and complaints along the way. This has resulted in some cool stuff along the way, though, like this flash movie:

And now there's a game where you can play Ebum himself! Try to rip off as many sites as possible and watch out for the copyright signs.

The importance of emphasis in a spoken sentence.

"I didn't say you stole the money."

Depending on the word you put emphasis on, it can have 7 different meanings with no actual changes in the written words.

"*I* didn't say you stole the money." - he said it
"I *didn't* say you stole the money." - rejects the accusation
"I didn't *say* you stole the money." - I implied it
"I didn't say *you* stole the money." - mistaken identity
"I didn't say you *stole* the money." - it may have been misplaced
"I didn't say you stole *the* money." - just money in general
"I didn't say you stole the *money*." - just everything else

I never thought about how important the right emphasis can be. :)

This is hilarious, David hasselhof apparently is still pursuing that music career. Please stop doing that, David. Seriously.
